Welcome to Flameborne
When:
Formed in the late 90's, Flameborne came about in a game called "Dragonrealms", by Simutronics. The guild was formed on the PvP server "The Fallen".
Why:
We felt that a majority of gamers were of the opinion that a casual guild could not compete with their "hardcore" guilds. Our goal was simple... to show them the error of that thought. That yes indeed, a casual family type guild could give the hardcore kids a run for their money.
Structure:
Flameborne is built on a "Inner Council" structure, of 5 members. A Guild Leader, and 4 Officers. All decisions are based on a vote of the Council. Further ranks inside the guild relate to playtime, capability in a given job role, etc.
Games Played:
- Shadowbane - Deception Server. Having formed a beta alliance with Defenders of Order and a few other guilds, we managed to bring up the second city on the server, as well as the first Rank 8 trainers. After uncovering a "enemy" trade city, and burning it to the ground, a major server war was ignitied in which we eventually triumphed. We held 4 class advocates, 2 forum moderators, and one GM in our time with the game.
- Lineage 2 - Starting on Lionna after beta, we took the 2nd castle on the server, and had the first dwarf (Hi Heath!) with summon golem on the server as well. The castle was held completely, having never fell, until we left the server for Teon. Having arrived on Teon, we quickly established ourselves with a alliance built around a rigid stance of no cheating, no botting, or griefing. After taking Dion, we held the castle until again, we left for our new game. The castle was never taken under our care, despite repeated attempts.
- Rising Force: Online - Alas, such a great game, ruined by such a crappy company. (One could say the same of NCSoft Austin eh!?) Anyway, we arrived very quickly got the top leadership spots, attained via PvP rank points. Even after we left, no one could surpass our ranks, thus we held the Archon spots until such a time as it was changed to a voting system and not a pvp based system.
- Warhammer - Server choice sucks... you know? Its like a giant guessing game. Anyway, we guessed wrong.. and had our original server (Averheim) shut down on us, due to population issues. We then moved to Phoenix Throne as it was the only viable alternative with a stable, decent population between factions. Currently we reside on Vortex, after having transferred off so as not to be part of the "zerg" side. (What fun is that?!)
- Aion - Hmm... can NCSoft "West" recover from NCSoft "Austin"'s crappy decision making? Will they actually ban cheaters, botters, etc? Time will tell, but we are heavily awaiting the arrival of Aion. Currently we are messing around on the Chinese servers, server cluster 7 105 for Elyos, and cluster 9 for Asmodeus.
